This summer 14 Candler students are serving in ministry through Candler Advantage, a paid summer internship in conjunction with Candler’s Contextual Education Program. Over the course of the summer many of these students will be sharing their experiences here on the blog.
Hello, I am Patrick McLaughlin and I am working this summer through the Candler Advanced Summer Internship program. My aim is to further explore how the church can be a community health promoter by better understanding the determinants of health that lie in our agriculture communities. I have spent time with friends and family who are farmers, seed distributors, fertilizer salespeople, ranchers, feedlot operators, ethanol producers to gain their perspective on sustainability, health of people and the land, and life with God.
